Zazie Beetz, born 1991 was born in Berlin. Her father was an German cabinetmaker, who came into the United States after the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, is her mother who works as a South African American social worker. Jennifer Aniston also graduated from her high school. Beetz was a graduate of LaGuardia in 2007, was a student at Skidmore College and studied French. When she graduated from the college, Beetz immediately began auditioning and was offered the role as Van in Atlanta. Beetz is a native of Berlin and was the daughter of two parents: a German father, as well as an African American Mother. They both grew up within New York. Zazie was a stage performer within the community as well as on stage in New York since her childhood. Zazie discovered that she enjoyed acting while in the school.
